Gooru

Step 1 ... What is Gooru? (10 Minutes)

Gooru is a free personalized learning solution that enables teachers to find, remix, and share collections of web resources on any K-12 topic. Gooru’s mission is to honor the human right to education. They are dedicated to engaging a community of teachers, developers, and supporters to unleash personalized learning with technology to educate all the students of the world.  With millions of open multimedia resources and quiz questions, Gooru organizes all online learning content and connects a community of educators and learners to meet students’ unique needs. Best of all, Gooru is open-source and free.

Take a moment to view the video below and get an ideas of what Gooru is and how it is an amazing classroom resources that allows teachers to not only find content, but curate it in to lesson modules that can be shared.
Step 2 Sign Up and Learn (20 minutes)

Now that you know a little about Gooru you may wish to sign up for an account and also learn about how to use it. After signing up take a look at the video below. You may wish to start and stop the video in order to learn and then apply, a great practice we should also show our students. You will find it really is about finding, remixing, and sharing. Toward the end of the video there is instruction on making a class. You may wish to consult your school AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) before setting that up and keep in mind student privacy. Reagrdless
