Common Sense Media... Digital Bytes

Picture
Digital Bytes - Are you looking for a Digital Activity based on principles of Project Based learning? It might be time for you to look at Common Sense Media's Digital Bytes. This is a program that teaches teens digital citizenship through student-directed, media-rich activities that tackle real-world dilemmas. In these activities teens will learn from the experiences of their peers. Best of all,  they create collaborative projects that voice their ideas for making smart, safe choices online. Read the student quotes below:

"I learned that not everything should be posted online. Also that if you post something and then have second thoughts about it and delete it, it still may not be gone."

"We learned about how, by being an activist, we can make more things happen than by being a slacktivist. We also learned there are a lot of ways to help our community."

First, watch the below video created by Tarrant Institute professional development coordinator Susan Hennessey. Note that students should always check with teacher before using suggested tools for a project. When complete go to the Digital Bytes Link to learn more.
